About this role

Assistant Project Manager – On-site

Join Verne on a major hyperscale data centre project in Iceland. The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Senior Project Manager and wider project leadership team to learn and assist in practical project delivery, site coordination, programme control, safety leadership, quality assurance, interface management, commissioning readiness, and operational handover. Supports the on-site delivery of a large hyperscale fast-track data centre project delivered under a FIDIC Yellow Book design-build contract. The role provides structured support to the Employer’s on-site team while developing the capability to manage defined workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, maintain project records, and contribute to timely, safe, and high-quality delivery in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements, contract obligations, approved programme, technical standards, EHS requirements, quality expectations, and customer deployment milestones

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day site coordination, programme and progress control.

• Coordinate activities across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations.

• Track project risks, issues, actions, changes and key milestones.

• Support contractor and stakeholder coordination and contract administration.

• Assist with quality, EHS, site logistics and compliance activities.

• Support commissioning, handover and operational readiness.

• Prepare project reports, trackers, meeting materials and management information.

• Gradually take ownership of defined workstreams and responsibilities.

What we are looking for

• Early-career or developing project management professional.

• Experience in construction, engineering, data centres, industrial, energy, MEP or other complex project environments.

• Basic understanding of project delivery, construction sequencing, programme control, risk, quality and commissioning.

• Strong organisational, communication and follow-up skills.

• Proactive, reliable and detail-oriented approach.

• Motivation to develop into a larger project management role.
