About this role
The intern will support the quantum sensing team in the development, integration, testing, and characterization of next-generation quantum sensing technologies. The role will involve laboratory-based engineering activities, experimental measurements, data analysis, prototype integration, and technical documentation. The position is expected to work closely with both the hardware/electronics and physics teams.
Key Accountabilities:
• Support hardware and electronics development activities under engineer supervision.
• Assist with laboratory measurements, testing, and characterization of sensing subsystems.
• Support prototype build, integration, bring-up, and troubleshooting activities.
• Assist with evaluation of optical, microwave, electronic, and packaging concepts for future sensing systems.
• Collect, analyse, and document experimental results.
• Support verification, validation, and prototype evaluation activities.
• Assist with technical documentation and engineering records.
Essential Technical Capabilities:
• Physics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, engineering physics, or related technical background.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
• Basic data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document technical work.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple technical disciplines.
Desirable Technical Capabilities:
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and measurements.
• Electronics development or testing experience.
• Exposure to optics, photonics, RF/microwave systems, or sensing technologies.
• Python, MATLAB, or equivalent technical computing tools.
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis.
