The Opportunity

As a Senior Mining Consultant – Open Pit, you will provide technical expertise and consulting services across a variety of surface mining projects in Canada and internationally.

You will apply your mining engineering experience to mine planning and design, Scoping Studies, Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), Feasibility Studies (FS), NI 43-101 Technical Reports, mine optimization, technical due diligence, mine economics, and project management.

You’ll work directly with clients and multidisciplinary technical teams while contributing to high-quality project delivery and practical solutions for mining operations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and contribute to Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility Studies

• Complete and review open-pit mine designs, schedules, and mine plans

• Conduct mine planning and optimization projects

• Conduct mine asset technical due diligence, evaluations, and operational reviews

• Develop and review mine economic models, cost estimates, and technical assessments

• Prepare and review NI 43-101 Technical Reports and equivalent international technical reports

• Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout project delivery

• Manage technical deliverables in accordance with client-approved scopes, schedules, and budgets

• Coordinate with partner groups, contractors, and sub-consultants as required

• Apply practical, fit-for-purpose mining solutions and global best practices

• Identify and support the implementation of industry-leading mining technology

• Provide peer review and technical guidance to project teams

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

• Support proposals, scopes of work, and client presentations

• Contribute to business development and the continued growth of Mining Plus

What You Bring

• 8+ years of mining and technical experience

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant operational mining experience

• A recognized degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, or a related discipline

• Professional P.Eng. designation or equivalent

• Strong experience in open-pit mine planning, mine design, scheduling, and optimization

• Competency with mine planning software, with Deswik and/or Hexagon MinePlan 3D experience preferred

• Experience contributing to NI 43-101 Technical Reports

• Experience with mine economics, cost modelling, and technical assessments

• Strong technical and project management capabilities

• Experience managing or coordinating multidisciplinary projects, contractors, and sub-consultants

• Experience preparing proposals, technical reports, scopes of work, and project correspondence

• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills

• An interest in supporting and contributing to business development

• A practical approach to solving complex mining challenges

• A strong commitment to technical excellence and workplace safety

• Exceptional communication, report writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills

• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills

• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams
