The DSP Software Engineer will design, develop, implement, and enhance software and algorithms used to process and analyze complex signals. This role combines digital signal processing expertise with hands-on software development, with an emphasis on high-throughput signal processing, low signal-to-noise ratio environments, higher-order and adaptive modulations, and performance-intensive applications.

The DSP Software Engineer will develop and implement DSP algorithms in software, modify and enhance existing software and firmware, and integrate new capabilities into existing systems and operating environments. The Engineer will analyze requirements, develop software and performance requirements, debug and correct defects, and design algorithms that meet demanding functional, timing, resource, and interface constraints.

This individual will work primarily in C++, Linux, and Python or similar development environments and will collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineers throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities may also include software integration and testing, performance analysis and optimization, technical documentation, evaluating hardware/software tradeoffs, and clearly communicating the design and functionality of developed algorithms to other technical team members.

We are hiring for three experience levels within this role. Candidates will be considered for the level that best aligns with their education, technical background, and relevant DSP/software development experience, with compensation aligned to the applicable experience level.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline with an emphasis on digital signal processing

• Experience designing and implementing Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms in software

• Experience with C++, Linux, Python, or similar development technologies

• Strong understanding of signal processing concepts, including low signal-to-noise ratio, higher-order modulation, and/or adaptive modulation

• Experience developing, modifying, debugging, integrating, and testing complex software or algorithms

• Ability to clearly document and explain developed models and algorithms so they can be understood and utilized by other technical team members

• Experience working with performance-intensive software and addressing timing, resource, or interface constraints is beneficial

• Level 1: Four (4) years of DSP algorithm development experience and four (4) years of relevant C++, Linux, Python, or similar development experience

• Level 2: Seven (7) years of DSP algorithm development experience and seven (7) years of relevant C++, Linux, Python, or similar development experience

• Level 3: Twelve (12) years of DSP algorithm development experience and twelve (12) years of relevant C++, Linux, Python, or similar development experience

• For Level 3, C++ experience must include work performed within the last ten (10) years

• A Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science may substitute for two (2) years of required experience

• Four (4) years of additional relevant DSP/RF software experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree

• IAT Level II / DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as Security+, is preferred for the senior-level position
