Role Purpose

The Drainage Asset Surveyor is responsible for undertaking site-based drainage asset surveys, validation and verification across the LU network. The role will involve identifying existing drainage assets, confirming their condition, location and associated asset information, and ensuring that asset records accurately reflect the physical infrastructure on site.

The Surveyor will work independently or as part of a Drainage PGI team, depending on the requirements of the programme, and will support the Asset Champion in maintaining accurate and reliable drainage asset information.

Key Responsibilities

· Undertake site-based drainage asset surveys and inspections across the LU network.

· Identify, locate and verify drainage assets against existing asset records and drawings.

· Complete and quality-check LU 447 Asset Validation Forms accurately and in accordance with the required standards.

· Identify discrepancies between physical assets and existing asset information and ensure these are correctly recorded and reported.

· Capture accurate asset information, including asset type, location, measurements, condition and other relevant attributes.

· Update and maintain asset information and supporting records as required.

· Support the Asset Champion with the identification and resolution of asset data discrepancies.

· Work independently when undertaking surveys or as part of a Drainage PGI team when required.

· Support drainage survey and delivery teams with CAD, drawing review and data processing activities.

· Ensure all survey information is accurate, complete and submitted within the required timescales.

· Liaise with operational teams and other stakeholders where access, asset identification or survey information requires clarification.

· Comply with all relevant TfL, Lanes Group, LU and site safety requirements.

· Maintain appropriate records of completed surveys, inspections and outstanding actions.

Key Competencies and Experience

· Previous experience in drainage, asset surveying, infrastructure inspection or a similar technical environment.

· Good understanding of drainage assets and associated infrastructure.

· Experience undertaking site-based surveys and accurately recording asset information.

· Ability to interpret drawings and identify assets against existing records.

· Competent in the use of digital data capture systems and Microsoft Office applications.

· Experience with CAD, MicroStation and ProjectWise would be advantageous.

· Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data collection and validation.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operational team.

· Good communication skills, with the ability to identify and escalate discrepancies appropriately.

Role Requirements

· Willingness to work across the LU network and attend various operational sites.

· Ability to work as part of a PGI team or independently where required.

· Ability to work flexibly to meet programme and operational requirements.

· Relevant rail/LU competencies and certifications as required by the contract.

Key Performance Indicators

· Accurate and timely completion of asset surveys and LU 447 Asset Validation Forms.

· Quality and completeness of submitted asset information.

· Timely identification and reporting of discrepancies.

· Compliance with all relevant safety, quality and contractual requirements.

· Delivery of allocated survey programme within agreed timescales.
