What you will do
• Support the administration of project cost records, change order logs, variation records and claims registers, with guidance from the commercial team as you learn.
• Monitor project costs and assist with accurate, timely commercial reporting.
• Assist with procuring and letting subcontractor packages, learning how suppliers and subcontractors are selected, priced and managed on live projects.
• Support the review and validation of subcontractor and supplier interim payment applications.
• Help identify, document and track variations, claims, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Take direction, ask questions and contribute positively to the commercial delivery of successful projects.

The candidate
We are looking for a motivated graduate who is eager to learn, ask questions, contribute to a team and build a career in quantity surveying with Flynn.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with project and commercial teams.
• Good written skills and attention to detail.
• A willingness to learn, ask questions and act on feedback.
• An interest in commercial management, construction project delivery and how projects are planned, costed and controlled.
• Basic knowledge of the construction process and site operations.
• A strong work ethic, sense of ownership and ability to work as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Buildsoft or similar systems is helpful but not essential.
