About this role

Premier Sand and Stone LLC, a subsidiary of Coyote Rock LLC, located in Sheridan, Arkansas is a fast-paced and fast-growing Specialty Aggregate company. Premier Sand and Stone is an open pit mine that operates VSI crushers and material separation wash plants focusing on the Golf, Sports Field and Pool Industries. We are currently seeking a full-time Groundman. The ideal candidate will need to possess excellent leadership skills that achieve results and surpasses goals. The Groundman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, cleanup, and maintenance of an aggregate (sand, gravel, crushed stone) processing plant. This role involves operating the wash out station, manual labor, equipment operation support, and assisting with maintenance activities to ensure the plant operates smoothly and safely. Pursue Safety Excellence in all aspects of the operation as well as perform any reasonable request made by the Operations Manager or the Director of Business Operations, Premier Sand and Stone, LLC.

Full Time

Monday-Friday 7am- 5pm

Principal Accountabilities:

• Protect company information and trade secrets with utmost confidentiality.

• Perform cleaning of all trucks that enter the facility at the clean out station.

• Perform general labor duties including shoveling, raking, and material handling.

• Assist with plant startup, shutdown, and daily operations.

• Assist with the overview of plants while operating, monitor production that is occurring, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

• Assist with identifying potential safety risks that need to be addressed and report those to the Operations Manager as well as the Safety Manager.

• Assist the plant operators with start-up and shut down procedures, daily plant inspections, and workplace exams.

• Monitor plant components (conveyors, crushers, screens) and report abnormalities.

• Oversee the housekeeping of the plant areas. Keeping plant areas clean, safe, and free of debris or potential hazards.

• Operate plants and equipment as needed

• Provide coverage for plant operators, mine operators, shipping coordinators, and any other position you are requested to do during their absence

• Assist maintenance and plant operators with maintenance and repair work.

• Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, etc.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager or the Director of Business Operations.

Physical Requirements Include, but are not limited to:

• Being on your feet for the majority of the workday

• Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.

• Driving manual transmission vehicles around the yard and shop

• Keeping a brisk work pace throughout the day

• Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions

• Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing ladders or stairs.

• Use of PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, harnesses, etc.) is mandatory

$15-17/hr. DOE
