Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Health, Safety and Environment Officer, who will help Candi to lead the revolution of solar. The HSE Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation, coordination and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements across the company's operational solar asset portfolio in South Africa.
Specifically, the job requires taking ownership of the following for the South African team:
• Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
• Tracking, recording, and reporting all incidents, near-misses, and safety violations
• Coordinating safety training programs and ensuring that all employees are adequately trained in HSE policies and procedures
• Preparing and disseminating safety-related communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and posters
• Maintaining and updating all necessary safety records, certifications, permits, and logs
• Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and documentation required by environmental and occupational health agencies
• Providing support to the South African HSE Representative in organising safety committee meetings and implementing initiatives for employees
• Compiling and reviewing EPC and contractor HSE Files
• Asset Management HSE Administration

Location: Johannesburg / Durban, combined with working from home
Hours: Full time.
Job Requirements:
• Relevant HSE/Safety qualification.
- SAMTRAC / relevant equivalent qualification.
- Incident investigation experience.
- ISO 45001 experience.
- ISO 14001 experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years' HSE experience.
• Practical experience conducting workplace/site inspections.
• Experience working with contractors/service providers.
• Good understanding of South African OHS legislation.
• Experience with HSE documentation and reporting.
• Good report-writing and communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally.
