About this role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medicaid Clerk to administer and facilitate the district's Medicaid School-Based Services program. In this role, you will ensure that eligible services provided to students are accurately logged, verified, and submitted in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. You will work closely with district staff, finance personnel, and state software vendors to maximize program reimbursement and maintain audit-ready records. Key Responsibilities
• Claims Processing & Billing: Administer the Random Moment Time Study (RMTS), track participant compliance, manage schedules, and provide support and training to participating staff.
• Compliance & Audits: Maintain organized, audit-ready records and assist leadership during state/federal audits.
• Provider & Vendor Support: Onboard and assist staff with Medicaid logging software, follow up on missing documentation, and serve as the main point of contact for billing vendors and state agencies.
• Financial Administration: Work with the Business Office to reconcile remittances and payments, generate compliance and revenue reports, and assist with general administrative duties.
Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 2–3 years of clerical, data entry, or administrative experience. Experience in Medicaid billing, medical coding, or educational support services is strongly preferred.
• Key Skills: High precision and attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and effective communication skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with student databases (e.g., PowerSchool) and Medicaid billing portals preferred.
• Confidentiality: Must maintain strict adherence to FERPA and HIPAA regulations regarding sensitive student records.
