Our approach combines individualized instruction, consistent mentoring, responsive student support, and meaningful relationships to help students make progress toward graduation and their postsecondary goals. The Job We're looking for a part-time special education paraeducator who is great with kids, comfortable with technology, and believes relationships matter just as much as academics. We're not a traditional high school—and this isn't a traditional para job. Our students sometimes need an extra person in their corner: someone to help them get organized, show up, work through frustration, stay engaged, and realize they can be successful. What You'll Do
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students receiving special education services
• Support instruction and IEP goals under the direction of licensed staff
• Help students stay organized, engaged, and on track
• Provide encouragement, redirection, and behavioral support when needed
• Connect with students through video, phone, messaging, and in person
• Track progress and communicate with teachers and families
• Be a consistent, positive adult students can count on
Who We're Looking For Someone who is patient, dependable, tech-friendly, flexible, and really good at connecting with teenagers. And because we're a small team, being a great teammate matters. We want someone who jumps in, communicates, asks questions, shares ideas, and helps where needed. You also need to be coachable—open to feedback, willing to try a different approach, and always looking for ways to get better at supporting students. Experience in special education, behavior support, or online learning is a plus. Iowa paraeducator certification is preferred, but we're also interested in the right person who is willing to learn. High school diploma or equivalent required. Interested?
