Job Title: Payroll Coordinator Reports To: Chief of Finance Organization: Tejano Center POSITION SUMMARY The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations for Tejano Center and RYSS Texas Public Schools. This position coordinates the biweekly payroll process, maintains accurate employee payroll records, supports required payroll reporting, and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and organizational requirements. The Payroll Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for payroll-related matters and works collaboratively with Human Talent, Finance, campus administration, and organizational leadership to ensure the accuracy of employee compensation, payroll deductions, retirement contributions, and payroll records. The position also supports payroll reconciliations, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit preparation while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required. • Associate degrees in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant payroll, accounting, or financial administration experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Professional payroll certification preferred but not required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
• Thorough understanding of payroll processing, administration, and recordkeeping procedures. • Knowledge of payroll taxes, wage calculations, direct deposits, deductions, garnishments, and employee compensation practices. • Working knowledge of TRS reporting requirements and applicable IRS payroll tax reporting. • Ability to interpret and apply payroll policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and payroll management systems. • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to review payroll information, identify discrepancies, and implement appropriate corrections. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under established deadlines. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain payroll information clearly and professionally. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee compensation, banking, personnel, and financial information. • Ability to coordinate multiple payroll activities, prioritize competing responsibilities, work independently, and exercise sound judgment **PLEASE OPEN ATTACHMENT FOR COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES** FLSA Status: Exempt Emp Employment Status: Full-Time Work Calendar Status: 12 Months (238 Days) Salary:
