Working with Belgrade School District is a rewarding opportunity to be part of our mission “to educate students to become responsible members of society.” Job Summary: Temporary seasonal position for winter snow removal at our various school and district office locations. This includes snow removal and cleaning sidewalks. Must be available for emergency weather conditions and be able to work on weekends and holidays as needed. Season typically begins mid-November and ends in March, depending on weather. Candidate must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and remain focused and seated for extended periods of time. House for these positions vary depending on weather and needs of the section. Must be able to perform moderate physical activity in lifting, carrying, and/or operating the tools and equipment. Essential Functions Duties/Responsibilities:

• Most work performed outside, with frequent exposure to adverse winter weather conditions.

• Includes removal of snow from parking lots and sidewalks.

• Operate pickup truck with snowplow to remove ice and snow from school district locations.

• Responds in a timely manner when called to assist in snow plowing.

• Hand-shovel areas as required (walkways, doors, etc.)

• Follows all safety rules, policies, and regulations.

• Work independently with minimal supervision to complete the job.

• Inspects and maintains equipment to assure it's ready to be used as needed for snow removal.

• Reports all incidents involving equipment to assigned supervisor(s).

• Wear appropriate protective equipment at all times.

• Comply with all policies and procedures.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Tractor Snow Plow Driver

• Snow Shovel

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to work in inclement weather

• Familiar with safety regulations

• Knowledge of school district coverage area

Experience:

• No experience/training provided

• Valid driver's license and sage driver's record

Working conditions:

• Extremely flexible working hours, including nights, weekend, and holiday work.

• Work safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis

• Work outdoors in various conditions including extreme cold, rain, dust, noise, and wet conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly

• Strenuous physical effort is generally required to perform duties.

• The employee is frequently required to use hands to operate equipment, walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, and climb. Stamina is required to work in adverse weather conditions.

• Required to work in confined spaces and lift

• Physical ability to use power and hand tools, drive various classes of motor vehicles, operate and drive various pieces of heavy construction and maintenance equipment.

• Vision requirements include the ability to read routine documents and operate vehicles and equipment.
