Position Overview:
• Howland Local Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of 7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach. • The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching fundamental basketball skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, supervising student-athletes, maintaining required attendance and participation records, and supporting the philosophy and expectations of the Howland Girls Basketball program and Athletic Department. Qualifications and Attributes:
• Applicants should demonstrate: Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and age-appropriate instruction. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to develop positive relationships with student-athletes, families, coaches, staff, and administrators. Integrity, dependability, good judgment, and high moral character. A commitment to student development, academic achievement, sportsmanship, safety, and teamwork. A willingness to collaborate with the varsity coaching staff and support the entire Howland Girls Basketball program. Previous playing or coaching experience preferred.
Required Certifications and Compliance:
• The selected candidate must obtain and maintain all required district and state credentials, including: • Ohio Pupil Activity Permit • CPR and First Aid certification • Fundamentals of Coaching • Concussion in Sports training • Sudden Cardiac Arrest training • Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training • PBIS and Fraud Reporting and Prevention training • Current BCI and FBI background checks • District-required drug testing and employment screening Salary:
