Leisure Centre Assistant In the west cost of Ireland in Connemmara! With Lifeguarding, Swim Teaching, and Fitness Training Responsibilities Location: Clifden Station House Leisure Centre Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (includes evening and weekend shifts) Overview: We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our dynamic team at Clifden Station House Leisure Centre. This is a varied and active role combining lifeguarding, swim instruction, aqua aerobics, gym training, and general leisure centre operations. Full training will be provided where required. Key Responsibilities:  Lifeguarding:  Supervise pool activities to ensure the safety of all users  Respond to emergencies and administer first aid as needed  Carry out regular safety checks and poolside duties  Swim Teaching:  Deliver engaging swimming lessons to children and adults  Encourage water confidence, skill development, and progress  Communicate effectively with parents and participants  Aqua Aerobics Instruction:  Lead fun and safe water-based exercise classes (training provided)  Adapt sessions to suit different abilities and fitness levels  Fitness Training  Assist members in the gym with equipment and workout advice  Support or lead group fitness classes once qualified  Help maintain a welcoming, motivating environment  Facility Hygiene & Standards:  Maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the facility  Complete daily and weekly cleaning checklists  Ensure all areas are safe, presentable, and in line with health guidelines What We’re Looking For:  Strong communication and teamwork skills  Willingness to undertake training and new qualifications  Friendly, professional attitude toward members and guests Desirable  RLSS/NPLQ Lifeguard qualification desireable  Swim Ireland Level 1 or 2 Teaching Certificate desireable  Group fitness or aqua instructor qualification desireable Perks:  Free Gym & Leisure Centre Membership  Supportive team and learning environment  Career development opportunities within the health & fitness industry
