Job SummaryThis vacancy announcement is open exclusively to employees within the Department of the Interior (DOI), Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of Communications (OCO). QualificationsMinimum Qualification Requirements: Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1.) Working with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring work quality and compliance with organizational standards; 2.) Designing and/or producing complex visual communication products-such as video, illustrations, photography, or layouts- by using advanced software like Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; 3.) Creating multimedia production for high-profile events, managing studio, broadcast, and field communications to deliver impactful visual content; and 4.) Developing and enforcing multimedia standards for accessibility and technical compliance, such as optimizing workflows for digital platforms and/or ensuring Section 508 requirements. Must meet all. Competitive candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. Major DutiesThis position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Communications. At the full performance level GS-14 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of a large and complex staff in professional, technical, clerical and administrative work to carry out the mission of the organization. Serve as a Department expert on Multimedia Communications Specialist for the Office of the Secretary, Office of Communications, directing, planning, producing, and managing wide range of visual communication products, from conception to production, and providing a finished product that enables the viewers to better comprehend the ideas and programs presented and is of special significance in presenting information of vital interest. Provide expertise to effectively advise on official graphics, digital and multimedia products. Performing the full range of complex assignments and projects using expertise in multiple computer systems and applications. Lead end-to-end multimedia production for Department leadership by directing studio, broadcast, field, and national-level communications efforts. Serve as the Department's principal technical authority for production technology, post-production workflows, and multimedia asset management, defining system requirements; evaluating and implementing technical solutions; and coordinating with IT, security, facilities, acquisition, and communications teams to maintain and improve production environments.RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen or National.
