Job Summary*****************THIS IS A TERM POSITION, NTE 2 YEARS************************************ About the Position: The incumbent serves as the technical expert, exercising real-time command and control over the entire range and training area complex. This position is located within the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Plan, Training, Mobility and Security at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing thorough instructions for policing of all ammunition, brass, debris, trash, and residue by using units; operating a computer on automated ranges and maneuver live fire ranges; and completing physical security checks of the ranges/facilities within the range operations complex. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major DutiesAdvise unit personnel on the capabilities and limitations of weapons used in military training, including small arms, shoulder-fired launchers, mortars, and MK-106 bombing with USAF aircraft and Army helicopters.Conducts continuous safety oversight through mobile patrols, performing pre-operation, during-operation, and post-operation inspections to enforce strict compliance with all regulations and procedures.Recommends changes in organization of work, assignment of functions, and lines of authority to improve workflow and services rendered to increase productivity.
