Job SummaryYou will serve as an Engineering Technician (Mechanical) in the Infrastructure Engineering Branch of the Facility and Plant Planning Division in the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

QualificationsQualifying experience for the GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Comprehensive, practical experience in lifecycle management, repair, and maintenance of industrial HVAC and industrial ventilation systems, ideally within a heavy industrial or DoD depot-level environment. 2) Intensive knowledge of mechanical equipment diagnostics, real property management, and local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations to ensure immediate compliance. 3) Utilizing project management skills to manage the full lifecycle of facility mechanical systems and renovation projects, which includes developing project scopes, writing statements of work, and building cost estimates. 4) Proficiency in continuous process improvement methodologies-such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis. 5) Coordinate and lead effectively with diverse stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and high-level management. Qualifying experience for the GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Providing engineering technician support and oversight over HVAC and industrial ventilation systems. 2) Recommending new equipment installations supportive of mission requirements. 3) Analyzing complex technical mechanical problems, develop detailed project scopes, and cost estimates, and write clear technical reports. 4) Inspecting and validating facility projects completed and under construction to determine adequacy of installation and conformance of plans and specifications. Major DutiesYou will apply predictive and preventative tools and techniques to improve facility and equipment reliability.You will replace or modify utilities, real property, and equipment by developing statements of requirements, cost estimates, and/or performance statements of work.You will work with customers, contractors, and or contracting agencies to schedule and coordinate work with the least impact to production operations.You will provide direct support of HVAC and industrial ventilation system components to include but not limited to supply and exhaust fans, package air handling units, direct expansion split and package systems.You will monitor the performance of existing HVAC and industrial ventilation systems that support industrial plant equipment and processes to optimize reliability and minimize energy consumption.
