About this role

Job SummaryYou will serve as the Joint Intelligence Research Office (JIRO) Control Officer responsible for identifying and disseminating critical information within compartmented access programs to Navy customers. You will utilize expertise of the full range of JIRO source materials in order to provide analytic support and to collaborate with analysts on producing reports within compartmented channels. This position is located at OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE in Suitland, Maryland.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector . Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on controlled access programs (CAP), processes, and access lists; Manage controlled access program (CAP) information and materials in accordance with organizational guidelines and procedures; Advise customers of varying ranks, professions, and technical capabilities on the proper compliance, coordination, control, and distribution of controlled access program (CAP) products; Ensure compliance with guidelines, requirements, and processes regarding the protection of classified national defense information and controlled accesses; Utilize databases to enter data, perform searches, and retrieve information required to preserve access rosters, prepare intelligence products, and maintain positive control of materials. Major DutiesYou will perform tasks as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) Officer responsible for administering personnel access and managing CAP information/materials.You will identify, prevent, and protect information, personnel, facilities, operations, or material where the loss could pose a direct threat to national security.You will validate eligibility and need-to-know requirements for individuals under Navy cognizance nominated for access to controlled access program (CAP) intelligence products.You will execute monthly audits and metrics for controlled access programs (CAPs) in collaboration with Division Chief and other lead Control Officers (COs).You will develop and provide customers with training on safe-guarding and handling protocols for controlled access programs (CAPs)You will foster sound compliance practices for amongst customers, preventing data spillage or inadvertent disclosure.You will maintain security integrity of controlled access program (CAP) materials, preventing the loss of access, clearances, or facility.
