In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting the full range of Counterintelligence (CI), Counterespionage (CE) investigations, and/or CI Special Operations; collect CI data in support of mission; and Conduct CI operations to protect against intelligence activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
Major DutiesIdentify and develop innovative CI opportunities and activities to support critical Army acquisition programs and emerging technologies directly impacting the Army.Create collaborative and synchronized relationships to develop joint and integrated CI support to critical infrastructure and technologies affecting the entire DOD community.Assists in updating and developing Army policy and regulation relating to Research, Development, and Acquisition to better protect Army programs, systems and investment strategies from compromise and exploitation by foreign intelligence entities.Ensures leadership is kept fully apprised of key issues, significant developments, and any other issues of importance which may positively or negatively affect activities.
