Job SummaryThe Management and Program Analyst reports to the Senior Business Manager (Supervisory Health System Specialist) of the Medical Specialty Care at the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville, TN.
QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet at least one of the following qualification requirements. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data on a quantitative and qualitative basis to include data mining, reporting, program development and advising leadership on improvement initiatives and recommendations; utilizing various tools and methods such as reports, data servers, analytic servers, and Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Access) to create presentations, data analysis, and project documentation. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate-level education (in excess of 1 year) and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Major Duties***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties will include but may not be limited to the following: Collects, compiles, and tracks data for clinic management and healthcare analytic projects to improve the effectiveness, processes, healthcare delivery, and care for patients. Identifies clinic inefficiencies and bottlenecks, researches root causes, and creates innovative alternatives to ensure delivers of timely, appropriate, and quality of patient care. Develops, analyzes, and evaluates clinic and healthcare data, on a quantitative and qualitative basis, which includes data mining, reporting, program development and advising on improvement efforts to leadership. Maintains project tracking system, including change control, documentation, and notification of all aspects of the project to key stakeholders in a timely manner. Performs cost analysis and effectiveness studies on an on-going basis. Provides data, metrics and analysis that greatly contribute to the decisions that impact finances and workflow of proposed programs and policies. Initiates audits for the purpose of validating various aspects of data integrity. Provides recommendations and innovative solutions to resolve discrepancies and errors with the goal of improving timeliness and the appropriateness of services provided.
