Major DutiesSome of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots solid-state equipment, electrical equipment and devices in electric generating stations, and other ancillary facilities while observing safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment. Operates high-voltage switches and related devices in connection with work while following the guidelines of the Hazardous Energy Control Program and in coordination with the control center and/or dispatcher. Utilizes instruction manuals, standard operating procedures, Hazardous Energy Control Program, job hazard analysis, safe clearance procedures, safety trainings, and lockout/tagout when performing assigned work. Perform electrical maintenance and repair of bridge and gantry cranes, and elevators as qualified, utilizing a variety of logic sequences and solid-state circuitry. Requesting and holding clearances for the work group and utilization of lockout/tagout.RequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen or National. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
