Job SummaryAbout the Position: Serve as a Physical Security Specialist under the direct supervision of the Real Property Services Field Office and is responsible for the administration, operational oversight and implementation of the Construction Security Plan for RSFO and for the planning of all relevant activities connected to it, to include making appropriate determinations and preparing narrative reports explaining any violations of the CSP discovered on the work site and the corrective actions taken.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting security concepts, principles, governing regulations, policies, and directives; 2) Advising on security policies related to secure facility leases, designs, or construction projects; 3) Providing technical guidance and recommending engineering/procedural solutions to complex problems regarding security issues or multi-discipline security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Project Management Security Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major DutiesConduct security vulnerability and risk assessments of sites.Analyze the effectiveness of security plans and develop new measures to increase effectiveness.Serve as a technical expert on matters relating to security implementation.Coordinate with internal and external organizational elements to ensure project completion.Brief managers on program plans and levels of spending.Ensure compliance with security policies from government agencies.
