Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is located at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. The incumbent will be assigned to the REG MED CTR Director of Surgery, Orthopedic Service Department, and will assist physicians during surgical procedures. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes taking vitals, preparing and transferring patients, performing casting, splinting, wound care, mobility instruction, and venipuncture, assisting providers in minor procedures by maintaining sterile fields, managing instruments, anticipating needs, and responding to emergencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Major DutiesPerforms minor orthopedic treatments, supports cast room and minor surgical procedures, and assists physicians in operating rooms.Provides outpatient care by taking vitals, gathering patient history, preparing patients, and safely transferring them.Applies, modifies, and removes casts, splints, braces, dressings, and bandages; removes sutures, cleans wounds, and assists with mobility devices.Assists in minor surgical procedures by preparing sterile fields, anticipating instruments, maintaining sterility, passing instruments, and aiding in wound closure.Completes administrative tasks including schedule monitoring, preparing forms, retrieving imaging and lab results, and entering patient data.Maintains clinic readiness by preparing treatment areas, restocking supplies, performing room turnover, and checking sharps containers.
