About your role Looking to kick-start your science career? IXOM is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Mt Maunganui manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career laboratory professional looking to gain hands-on experience within a supportive and collaborative team. Working alongside experienced mentors, you will play a key role in laboratory testing, quality control activities, sample management and general laboratory operations while building a long-term career within the chemical industry. Your Role Reporting to the Quality Services Manager, you will work within a small multidisciplinary laboratory team supporting quality assurance, testing and analytical activities across the site. This is a practical, bench-based role offering broad exposure to laboratory operations and opportunities for career development. Your day-to-day will include the below, however we don’t need you to be an expert in this just yet. Analysing production and customer samples Conducting routine laboratory testing and quality control activities Supporting troubleshooting and technical investigations Assisting with wastewater testing and sample management Preparing reagents and maintaining laboratory equipment Inputting data into internal and external quality systems Supporting new product testing and evaluation of raw materials Maintaining laboratory documentation and housekeeping standards Providing occasional support for field trials and technical projects About You Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Biochemistry, Biology or a related scientific discipline Laboratory, quality control or testing experience is advantageous but not essential Recent graduates are encouraged to apply Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Current Full New Zealand Driver's Licence Willingness to learn and contribute across a broad range of laboratory activities Attitude is everything in this position, if you bring us your can-do attitude, we will teach you the rest.
