A Day in the Life:
As a Chinese Food Cook, you play a vital role in creating a fresh, flavorful, and enjoyable experience for every customer. You’ll prepare a variety of Chinese-inspired dishes by following recipes, ensuring high standards for quality, taste, and presentation. Your day includes cutting, chopping, and cooking ingredients using woks, ovens, and other kitchen equipment, as well as mixing sauces and seasoning dishes to perfection.
You’ll keep the food preparation area clean and organized, restock supplies from storage, and ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met. You may also assist customers at the counter, providing friendly and helpful service while answering questions about products. From preparing food to maintaining inventory and keeping the department running smoothly, you help deliver a consistent and high-quality experience.
What you bring to the table:
• Customer Service Skills: Friendly, courteous approach with a focus on creating a positive customer experience and assisting with questions • Food Preparation Expertise: Knowledge of following recipes and preparing Chinese food dishes using proper cooking techniques • Attention to Detail: Focus on maintaining consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation • Organization & Time Management: Strong prioritization and multitasking skills to manage prep work and maintain an efficient workspace • Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safe food handling, sanitation standards, and freshness guidelines • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the flexibility to work independently or as part of a team • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and customer needs • Equipment Operation: Experience safely using kitchen tools and equipment such as woks, ovens, slicers, and knives • Physical Stamina: Capacity to remain on your feet for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle lifting up to 50 lbs
Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age or older • Prior food service or cooking experience preferred • Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including kitchens, coolers, and freezers • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and company procedures • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred
