About this role

Job Title: ToolmakerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining precision tools and dies in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate closely with tool designers to develop new tooling solutions, interpret technical drawings, and ensure high-quality, accurate components using both conventional and CNC machinery.Responsibilities

• Collaborate with tool designers to develop and design new tools and dies that meet production and quality requirements. • Study blueprints, sketches, and models to plan the sequence of operations required to fabricate tools, dies, and assemblies. • Set up and operate conventional, NC, and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines to produce precision components. • Fit and assemble parts to build, repair, or modify jigs, gauges, and tools using both machine tools and hand tools. • Use inspection tools such as micrometers, comparators, gauges, and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. • Apply progressive die experience to design, build, troubleshoot, and maintain progressive die tooling. • Fabricate and adjust tooling and fixtures to support press operations and other manufacturing processes. • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete tooling projects accurately and on time. • Perform shop math and trigonometry calculations to support layout, machining, and inspection activities. • Maintain a clean, organized work station, bench, and tool area while following safety and quality procedures. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment. • Proven ability to set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines. • Experience with progressive die tooling in a production or tooling environment. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and models to plan and execute fabrication operations. • Strong skills using inspection tools such as micrometers, comparators, gauges, and calipers. • Solid knowledge of shop math, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. • Knowledge of shop math trigonometry and its application in layout, machining, and inspection. • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a tool and die maker or machinist in a manufacturing setting. • Experience in machining, including setup and operation of presses and related equipment. • Ability to fabricate complex tooling, jigs, and fixtures from engineering drawings. • Comfort working with both manual and CNC equipment in a fast-paced production environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise components. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of WARWICK, RI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
