Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and mechanical equipment. You will work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, metalworking tools, and electrical controls to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications. Responsibilities • Observe mechanical devices in operation to ensure performance aligns with equipment specifications. • Diagnose issues with production machines driven by hydraulic pressure and perform necessary repairs. • Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to maintain and repair equipment components. • Dismantle mechanical devices to access and remove defective parts. • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and identify wear or damage. • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to restore proper operation. • Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools, methods, and replacement components. • Install special functional and structural parts in devices to improve or restore performance. • Clean and prepare parts and assemblies to ensure proper fit and operation. • Start and test devices after repair or maintenance to verify performance and safety. • Assist with the dismantling and installation of equipment during upgrades, relocations, or major repairs. • Advise maintenance leadership on parts that need to be ordered to support repairs and preventive maintenance. • Recommend components to be maintained in inventory to reduce equipment downtime. • Evaluate PLCs, PCs, and servo drives by testing with a multimeter, identifying problems, and repairing or replacing components as needed. • Interpret and work from electrical schematics to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues. • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to minimize unplanned downtime. • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues on production equipment. • Support welding and fabricating tasks related to equipment repair and modification. • Operate job-specific equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts when needed, following safety guidelines. • Follow all safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions while performing duties. • Complete routine maintenance reports and documentation accurately and on time. • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall maintenance operations. Essential Skills • 3+ years of related maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in repair and troubleshooting of production machinery. • Ability to understand and work with hydraulic systems and basic hydraulics. • Knowledge of pneumatics and basic pneumatic systems used in production machinery. • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including working with PLCs, PCs, and servo drives. • Ability to evaluate PLCs, PCs, and servo drives using a multimeter to identify and resolve issues. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams. • Experience with preventive maintenance practices on mechanical and electrical equipment. • Skill in operating and maintaining lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools. • Ability to weld and fabricate components for maintenance and repair work. • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and maintenance documentation clearly and accurately. • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to maintenance and repair tasks. • Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Capability to frequently lift and move moderate to heavy objects as required by the role. • Ability to safely drive and operate a forklift, scissor lift, or other job-specific equipment when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as a maintenance technician in a production or industrial environment. • Background in welding and fabricating for equipment repair and modification. • Familiarity with basic hydraulics and pneumatics in manufacturing settings. • Comfort working around moving mechanical parts and in areas with moderate noise levels. • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team to support production goals. • Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and adjusting equipment. • Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and guidelines. Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a production facility with scheduled shifts that include a first shift from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and a weekend shift from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday through Sunday, with weekend hours structured to be paid as a full-time schedule. The role involves regular talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and frequent reaching with hands and arms, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You will frequently work around moving mechanical parts and may occasionally work at high or precarious places, with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate. The position requires frequent lifting and moving of equipment or parts, and the ability to drive and operate a forklift, scissor lift, or other job-specific equipment while following all safety protocols. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $83200.00/yr.
