About this role

Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description This Controls Engineer role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and implement control systems for custom material handling equipment in a technically challenging and highly varied environment. Will be working on multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating closely with senior engineers, mechanical engineers, and project engineers Cradle to grave full lifecycle involvement. Travel requirements are limited, allowing you to focus primarily on in house engineering and project work. • Supports flexibility in schedules to accommodate family needs • Typical start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM (flexible) • 40 hour work week Responsibilities

• Design and program control systems for custom material handling equipment and machinery • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, including PLC and HMI issues • Participate in testing, startup, and commissioning of control systems • Create, review, and maintain electrical schematics and control system designs • Adapt existing designs and control strategies to meet unique customer specifications • Manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects, often up to 15 at different stages • Serve as a liaison between mechanical and project engineering teams, ensuring clear communication and integration of control systems with mechanical designs • Contribute to continuous improvement of control system standards, design practices, and engineering processes Essential Skills

• 5+ years in controls/automation engineering • PLC programming/troubleshooting (AB or Siemens) • Experience developing and implementing HMI systems for industrial equipment • Ability to read, create, and modify electrical schematics and control system designs • Solid understanding of industrial automation concepts • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously "Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with robotics, particularly Fanuc robots • Hydraulics experience in an industrial environment • Background working with custom material handling equipment or custom machinery • Interest in full project lifecycle work, from initial design through commissioning and support. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allegan, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
