Job summary ABOUT THE ROLE As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team. Main duties of the job As a Head of Maintenance at Barchester Healthcare, you will ensure a clean and well-maintained environment in the care home, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents. Handling a variety of tasks within the care home and its grounds, you should be able to fix and maintain various aspects like plumbing and gardening. The role requires the ability to work independently, lead a team, and assist the General Manager in annual budget planning. Interaction with contractors for specific tasks outside the team's expertise is necessary. Prioritizing residents' wellbeing in all tasks is essential. Experience in property maintenance, possessing at least one trade skill, and flexibility with working hours are important. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one trade skill. Full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
