There is a strong focus on governance, patient safety and patient experience. The allergy team sits within the wider department of Respiratory medicine which provides mutual and administrative support.
Main duties of the job
This is a part time (0.5 WTE) post with no on call commitments. A detailed timetable can be seen in the job description. This would involve two allergy clinics per week, plus a fortnightly challenge session, with further clinical time for inpatient referrals and triage of GP referrals. Currently there are two whole time equivalent allergy nurse specialists working within the team. There are no medical allergy trainees working in the department, although this would be a future aspiration.
