You can come and help on Tuesdays from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM in the cozy little shop at our DeBreedonk location. For our residents, shopping in our store is a real outing. You will be present in the shop for a friendly chat and to help them with their shopping. You will also assist residents with checkout. Additionally, you will organize the shop when necessary, keep the shelves clean, and prepare the shopping lists, making them ready for the care staff. Naturally, we will provide you with thorough training on the tasks you will be performing. The shop is managed together with a friendly team of staff and volunteers. DeBreedonk is a pleasant residential care center run by Surplus, beautifully situated in a green environment, right next to the Mastbos. It is a small-scale location where everyone knows each other. All kinds of activities are organized, such as bridge, shuffleboard, seated exercise, memory training, listening to classical music, drawing, singing, lectures, performances, and exhibitions. At deBreedonk, life coaches and a volunteer coordinator are active as points of contact for the volunteer staff, and you will receive a warm and cordial welcome here. Volunteer staff are just as much a part of Surplus as paid employees! You are well supported, receive a contract, are insured, receive travel expense reimbursement (if applicable), are offered training & support and occasional social gatherings, and are considered an internal candidate for vacancies.
