We are excited to launch the recruitment of this substantive Consultant Psychiatrist role at The Harbour, Blackpool. You will be a Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Adult Psychiatry and will become a leading member of the well established, in-patient, multidisciplinary teams based at TheHarbour.
The post is permanent and full time (10PA).
Main duties of the job
Your role as Consultant Psychiatrist will have the following important clinical responsibilities:
o Responsible Clinician for a defined caseload.o Assessment of patients referred by the community teams and responsibility for any admissions at the Harbour Hospital.o Out-of-Hours Cover.
The role will involve assessment, diagnosis and treatment, ensuring that physical health is considered alongside psychological and social issues.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist register of the GMC or they should be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and have or are eligible to have Approved Clinician Status. Remuneration will be as set out in the terms of the New Consultant Contract according to previous experience.
About us
The Harbour is located just off the M55 and therefore enjoys good transport links to Preston and other parts of Lancashire. For those using publictransport, there are regular services to Blackpool and other parts of the Fylde Coast, as well as a regular service to Preston.
The role:
At least 2.5 SPAs as standard for a full time post (we would be flexible in looking at enhancements to support other activities that support the wider ambitions of the Trust).
