Description des tâches: The Senior accountant will have the following responsibilities: -Take ownership of selected legal entities, balance-sheet areas or accounting workstreams. -Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments and account reconciliations. -Ensure transactions are recorded accurately, completely and in the appropriate accounting period. -Investigate unexpected movements and resolve accounting discrepancies. -Prepare variance analyses and explanations of material balance movements. -Support and improve monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities. -Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Group Accounting and local accounting providers. -Analyse and account for complex, unusual or previously unresolved transactions. -Prepare accounting position papers or technical memoranda when required. -Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations and mismatch resolution. -Investigate cash, bank-fee, foreign-exchange and transaction-flow discrepancies. -Review historical balances and identify unsupported, unreconciled, duplicated or incorrectly classified items. -Reconcile and remediate accounting data in SAP. -Establish reliable opening balances and clear audit trails. -Correct recurring posting, mapping and master-data issues. -Help reinforce SAP as the primary accounting source of truth. -Reconcile differences between the client's records and those maintained by local accounting providers. -Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting evidence and accounting explanations. -Respond directly and independently to external-auditor requests. -Support statutory audits for European legal entities. -Prepare or contribute to balance-sheet substantiation, going-concern assessments and other accounting papers. -Maintain organised, complete and review-ready documentation. -Document accounting procedures and month-end activities. -Create or improve standard operating procedures, checklists and control evidence. -Perform root-cause analysis of recurring accounting issues. -Recommend and implement sustainable process improvements. -Contribute to the development of the accounting control matrix. -Use SAP and Excel for accounting operations, reconciliations and data analysis. -Work effectively with large datasets and incomplete or imperfect source information. -Identify accounting activities that can be standardised, simplified or automated. -Use tools such as Power Query, SQL, automation platforms or AI where they provide a practical benefit. -Document material automated processes so that they can be understood and maintained by the team. -Reduce recurring errors, unnecessary manual work and operational dependencies. Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with month-end closing. Demonstrate strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA (FI required; MM is a plus) Have experience independently managing legal entities, material balance-sheet areas or accounting workstreams. Demonstrate strong knowledge of accrual accounting, cut-off, reconciliations, intercompany accounting and financial controls. Have experience investigating and resolving complex or historical accounting issues. Have experience supporting statutory, group or external audits. Demonstrate advanced Excel skills. Operate effectively in multi-entity, multi-currency and complex environments. Have experience managing local accounting and tax service providers. Have knowledge of IFRS and European local statutory accounting frameworks. Prepare technical accounting papers and audit documentation. Work effectively with large datasets and incomplete information. Autres compétences: Be able to work independently in a fast-moving and changing environment. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders located across Europe. Experience in FinTech, payments, banking, financial services or another regulated industry is considered an advantage. Experience in accounting remediation following an ERP implementation is considered an advantage. A recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification is considered an advantage. License or Master qualification in accounting, finance or equivalent English speaking are mandatory, additional language is considered as an advantage
