Description de tâches: Location: Lintgen, Luxembourg Ongoing relocation to our new Industry 4.0 manufacturing site in Bissen, designed to offer a modern, innovative and comfortable working environment for our employees. Temporary replacement for parental leave, contract until the end of July 2027 Your mission: As R&D Engineer - Material Laboratory Department, you will work on R&D projects related to materials, surface treatments, lubricants and associated technologies. You will provide technical expertise on material-related topics and support problem-solving activities across the organization. Working closely with the relevant departments, you will coordinate technical activities, evaluate innovative materials and processes, and contribute to product development, performance improvement and innovation. Your missions will include the following: R&D Projects & Innovation: Participate to cross-functional R&D activities related to materials, surface treatments and lubricants Lead projects from the identification of technical needs through analysis, evaluation and implementation of solutions Coordinate projects, priorities and technical actions with relevant internal stakeholders Evaluate new materials, processes and technologies for potential future applications Contribute to innovation, product development and performance improvement through the identification of new technical solutions Materials & Surface Characterization: Provide technical expertise on materials-related topics across the organization Analyze and characterize materials and surfaces using appropriate laboratory techniques Work with both metallic and non-metallic materials Evaluate surface treatments and their impact on product performance and material properties Assess lubricants and associated technologies in relation to product requirements and applications Technical Support & Problem Solving: Provide technical support to all departments on materials-related topics Support cross-functional problem-solving activities and investigate technical issues Analyze test and characterization results to identify root causes and recommend appropriate solutions Develop clear and technically sound recommendations based on analysis and experimental results Coordinate technical actions with the relevant internal stakeholders to address identified issues Communication & Documentation: Present technical findings, analysis results and recommendations to internal customers and key stakeholders Ensure clear documentation of technical analyses, recommendations and project outcomes Communicate project progress, technical conclusions and proposed solutions effectively Ensure appropriate follow-up of technical recommendations and agreed actions Your profile: Education & Experience: Master of Science / Engineering degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Previous laboratory experience is required Experience in Materials Science is required Good knowledge of both metallic and non-metallic materials Technical Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of surface characterization techniques Experience performing and managing laboratory analyses Ability to analyze technical data and interpret experimental results Rigorous and methodical approach to laboratory work and technical analysis Ability to manage several technical activities and analyses in a fast-paced environment Ability to translate technical findings into clear and relevant recommendations Ability to present technical results and conclusions to internal customers Languages: Fluent English is mandatory French or German is a plus Personal & Soft Skills: Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize activities across multiple projects Rigorous, structured and analytical approach Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with different departments and stakeholders Autonomous and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility Why this role is interesting A technical R&D position at the intersection of materials science, surface engineering and product development The opportunity to work on a broad range of materials, surface treatments, lubricants and associated technologies A highly cross-functional role with direct interaction with multiple departments across the organization The opportunity to contribute to innovation and the development and improvement of Rotarex products A role combining hands-on laboratory work, technical analysis, project coordination and problem solving The opportunity to work in a global industrial environment where technical expertise has a direct impact on product performance and innovation What you will find at Rotarex The strength of a global industrial group combined with a family-oriented company culture Flexible working hours, depending on the position, supporting a healthy work-life balance A new Industry 4.0 manufacturing site in Bissen, offering an ultra-modern working environment (canteen, gym, free parking, electric vehicle charging stations, air conditioning...)
