Main duties of the job As our Lead Radiographer , you will:
Provide clinical leadership within a highly specialised area. You will participate in departmental QA, audit and all aspects of mandatory training as well. As a clinical lead you will enjoy scoping to develop policies and procedures. Deputise and support Radiology Manager. Supervise and develop other members of staff, inlcuding to mentor students and perceptees. Work in partnership supporting practitioners and other departments around the hospital. See each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy. Excellent communication and team working abilities.

The Radiology department is a growing and busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, Mammography and MRI. You will undertake a wide range of duties in helping to run the day to day running of a radiology service as well as participating in clinical work.
You hold a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and be HCPC registered. With a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR and be able to undertake audits. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable.

To Succeed as a Lead Radiographer, you will: Significant post qualification experience in MRI. Training in advanced MRI techniques including cardiac MRI.Experience in a management position in an operational or service management capacity.Experience of dealing with challenging situations.Excellent team working, organisational and leadership skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, and ability to manage staff effectivelyWell-developed analytical skills and innovative problem solving abilities.Possess mature judgement and decision-making skills.Exceptional Patient CareAwareness of budgetary implications and commercial impactDetailed understanding of Clinical Governance.MRI Safety Qualification preferable.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
