About this role

We are looking for a motivated Bioinformatics Data Steward (m/f/d) to support our Data Management unit in the Bioinformatics Department at TRON. You will further develop and implement solutions for efficient organization and coordination of diverse types of research data across multiple projects. Bioinformatics / DATA Steward (m/f/d) Full time - Mainz Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency and regulatory compliance, while managing data in accordance with the FAIR principles. Collaborate with scientists, software developers, machine learning engineers, and IT teams on efficient data management standards. Organize and annotate large scale and multi-dimensional research datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, clinical metadata, etc.). Manage data access and download from, and data submission to repositories such as EGA, ENA, dbGAP, etc. Provide guidance and training on data stewardship and data management best practices. M.Sc. in Bioinformatics or a comparable field, supplemented by a minimum of 2 years of professional working experience. Experience in research data management in bioinformatics or life sciences. Knowledge of FAIR principles, metadata standards, and data stewardship best practices. Experience with databases, scientific repositories, and scripting languages (e.g., Python or R). Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
