Assistant Professor or Higher - Hematology/Oncology (Pediatrics)
Position Description: Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions: • Provides Pediatric Hematology/Oncology inpatient care, outpatient care, and inpatient consultation services to newborns, children, and adolescents • Participates in the education of medical students and residents • Supervises advanced practice professionals in the clinical setting • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures • Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Preferred Qualifications: • Board certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics • Board certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics • Experience in teaching Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to medical students and residents in the clinical and classroom settings • Experience with participation in the Children's Oncology Group (COG) • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications: • M.D. or D.O. degree, or foreign medical degree equivalent • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited pediatrics residency program • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology • ..,. • Texas medical license, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
