*Job Summary:*
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Care Workers to join our team as a *Casual *Staff member, in this role, you will be responsible for providing support and care to children and youth in a residential setting. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting emotional well-being, and facilitating positive development.
*Responsibilities:*
* Provide daily care, supervision and guidance to children and youth in a residential facility. * Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and development. * Implement and follow established care plans for each child/youth, addressing their unique needs and goals. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to child/youth care. * Facilitate and participate in recreational activities, educational programs, and therapeutic interventions. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident progress and incidents. * Respond effectively to crisis or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum high school diploma or previous experience in residential care settings or similar environments * Strong understanding of child development. Trauma-informed care, and therapeutic interventions * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
*Requirements*:
* MCFD criminal record check * Valid driver?s license (or willingness to obtain) * First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) * Tuberculosis Test (or willingness to obtain) Physician letter to verify ability to work in this field (in house form will be provided to bring to physician) * Mandt training (or willingness to obtain) * Food Safe Training (or willingness to obtain) * Naloxone Training (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule:
* 8 hour shift * Night shifts * Day Shifts * Evening Shifts * On call * Weekends as needed
Licence/Certification:
* Driving License Class 5 (required)
