*POSITION OVERVIEW*
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with applicable codes and company safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew across various projects.
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES *
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams * Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing devices * Inspect electrical components for hazards, defects, and non-conformance with codes * Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components * Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems * Coordinate with other technician and project supervisors to complete work on schedule * Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent * Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
*KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS*
*EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*
* High school diploma or GED required * Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial/residential electrical work * Valid driver's license with clean driving record
*SYSTEMS & SKILLS*
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (multimeters, voltage testers, etc.) * Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, and panel installation * Familiarity with low-voltage systems, PLCs, or industrial control systems (preferred) * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints * Knowledge of motor controls, transformers, and switchgear * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Basic computer literacy for work order documentation and reporting if needed
*LOCATION*
Innoversa has office space in Concord, Ontario. The nature of this role requires the successful candidate to be in person 5 days a week.
*WORKING CONDITIONS*
* Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing and office environment. * Working in customers laboratory and field activities are included in this role and when working in a field or lab environment, protective personal equipment or additional safety training may be required. * The role may require the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend is required. * The role requires some overnight local and regional travel including once or twice per month job sites visits for project work with customers.
