About this role
Looking for part-time contract bookkeeper to provide full cycle accounting for busy automotive shop and related Holding Company. Must have 7 + years of experience, preferably in a variety of businesses. Self starter, ability to work on your own with little supervision and attention to detail are essential for this role.
The historical financials are incomplete and cleanup requiring significant reconciliation and review is required in the beginning of the position. The hours required up front will be higher than the ongoing requirement to maintain current financials.
Accounting system is a custom shop management software and training will be provided however experience with Cloud based accounting software is a definite asset
Excel and Word skills are required to provide ad-hoc reporting as requested
*Responsibilities:*
Accounts Payable
* Weekly Processing of Supplier invoices and updates to Cash Requirements * May assist in processing parts return credit notes and warranty credits * Payment of supplier invoices * Reconciliation of Supplier accounts monthly * Government Remittances for PST, GST and Worksafe Premiums on monthly and quarterly basis
Accounts Receivable
* Provide collections activity when required * Respond to customer account enquiries * Process payments from customers on account
Cash
* Clearing of Cash Drawer/processing bank deposits and merchant sales * Monthly Reconciliation of Bank Accounts and credit card statements * Prepare cash flow/cash requirement estimates
Other
* May be required to provide accounting guidance on BC payroll legislation and process biweekly payroll as required through online software Payworks
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 ? 15.0 per week
