TechElectric Automation is an industrial electrical and automation contractor serving customers throughout Southern Ontario.
We are looking for a *Purchaser* to take ownership of material sourcing, supplier pricing, purchasing and receiving for our projects and service work.
*Experience working with an electrical distributor, electrical contractor or industrial supplier would be especially valuable in this role.*
This is a hands-on position working closely with our General Manager, project managers and field technicians.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Source and purchase electrical, automation and industrial materials. * Obtain and compare supplier pricing, availability and lead times, and negotiate the best overall value. * Create, issue and track purchase orders and ensure purchases are assigned to the correct project or work order. * Obtain material and equipment pricing to support project estimates. * Expedite backorders and urgent material requirements. * Coordinate deliveries and receive incoming materials. * Handle returns, credits and incorrect shipments. * Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and identify alternate sources when required.
*Successful Candidates Will Bring*
* 2?3 years of purchasing, buying, electrical distribution, industrial supply or related experience preferred. * Electrical or industrial product knowledge is a *strong asset*. * Strong organization, follow-up and attention to detail. * Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers. * Ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities. * Good Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills. * Valid Ontario driver's licence is required.
Formal purchasing or supply-chain education is not required. Practical industry experience and product knowledge will be strongly considered.
