About this role

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, and adjusting machinery to ensure efficient production runs. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining quality standards, and supporting overall production goals. In this role it is expected to be a self-start, an excellent manager of time, ability to work independently, understand the escalation process for timeliness and follow all company GMP, safety and standards of conduct.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Duties may vary based on facility requirements.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set Up Technician Operations

· Perform mold setups and changeovers as it relates to the production schedule.

· Perform Prep work to prepare for mold changeovers and correct process related problems as directed by supervisor.

· Perform preventative maintenance on all tools currently in production such as cleaning and greasing of molds, etc. clean, inspect and lubricate equipment and machinery.

· Respond to trouble-shooting calls and mold performance issues to seek cause and perform or assist with repair. Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with other affected personnel.

· Responsible to watch and Operate lines as needed

· Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas and assist in the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the manufacturing area.

· Attend training sessions to maintain and/or improve technical knowledge and performance

· Must be able to: effectively communicate with internal and external customers, follow written instructions, use a variety of hand and power tools, wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), operate material handling equipment and maintain safest possible working environment for self and all facility associates.

· Perform quality checks on containers to ensure proper specifications are maintained. Document any problems or adjustments made to assigned machinery.

· Follow Plant specified job specification and task list.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Previous experience in a manufacturing machine setup role required

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or setup sheets.

· Knowledge of production equipment, tools, and safety procedures.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Good communication and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to lift to 60 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

· Job Knowledge: Demonstrates relevant job knowledge and essential skills required for the position including but not limited to policies, safety and GMP. Demonstrates self-improvement efforts to further develop skills.

· Safety: Actively contributes to a safe work environment. Follows all safety requirements and adheres to the PPE policy for the required task completion. The confidence to report safety hazards immediately for resolution.

· Quality: Produces accurate, high-quality work with attention to detail.

· Reliability: Dependable, punctual, present and accountable for assigned responsibilities.

· Reasoning ability: Ability to apply to commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, climbing and reaching.

· Frequent lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.

· Ability to work in confined spaces.

· Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
