The Senior Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing business growth, client engagement, and market positioning across priority markets. Working closely with Practice Leaders and the studio leadership, this role translates strategic direction into actionable business development initiatives, leads key pursuits, and strengthens high-value client relationships. The goal is to drive measurable growth, expand market presence, and reinforce the firm's competitive differentiation. Typical Years of Requisite Experience: 10+ years

Common and Baseline Responsibilities

• Drives execution of business development strategies aligned with studio and regional priorities, contributing to the development and refinement of BD Strategic Plans

• Leads discovery and research efforts to identify new opportunities within existing markets, including emerging clients, sectors, and service needs

• Identifies, cultivates, and manages strategic client relationships and partnerships in target market segments, with accountability for growth and engagement outcomes

• Leads high-impact pursuits, including go/no-go recommendations, pursuit strategy, and coordination of submissions and interviews in collaboration with Practice Leaders and Marketing teams

• Partners with Practice Leaders to strengthen market positioning and differentiation, contributing to messaging, value propositions, and client engagement strategies

• Represents the firm externally through industry events, organizations, and client interactions, enhancing visibility and reputation in key markets

• Coordinates business development efforts across multiple pursuits and teams, ensuring alignment, consistency, and quality of deliverables

• Collaborates with the Marketing Director and Practice Leaders on marketing budget planning and tracking; monitors performance and recommends adjustments based on ROI and effectiveness

• Acts as a connector across business development, marketing, and client service teams within the studio, facilitating communication and alignment on priorities and opportunities

• Supports client satisfaction efforts by maintaining regular touchpoints with key clients and identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and address concerns

• Contributes to the development and improvement of BD processes, tools, and performance metrics to increase efficiency, predictability, and measurable outcomes

• Mentors and provides guidance to Business Development Managers and junior team members, supporting capability building and consistency of approach

• Ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of opportunities and client relationships within CRM systems and internal platforms (e.g., HUB), using data to inform strategy and decision-making

Salary Range Information

At the time of posting this job advertisement, the annual pay salary range for this position in New York is between $110,000 and $145,000.
