About the Role

The Senior HR Generalist is an experienced Human Resources professional responsible for providing advanced employee relations support, compliance oversight, operational leadership, and guidance to employees and leaders. This position directly supervises HR Coordinators, mentors HR Generalists, and supports recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, investigations, training, workforce development, and other key HR initiatives.

Working closely with the HR Manager, Senior HR Director, and operational leaders, the Senior HR Generalist helps align daily HR operations with the organization's workforce needs, regulatory responsibilities, and long-term goals.

This role is ideal for someone who:

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Leading employee relations investigations involving complaints, workplace conflicts, misconduct allegations, and policy violations

• Advising employees and leaders on performance concerns, corrective action, workplace accommodations, and other employment matters

• Directly supervising HR Coordinators while providing mentorship, training, and guidance to other HR team members

• Overseeing and supporting recruitment, onboarding, orientation, promotions, transfers, credential verification, and workforce planning activities

• Providing oversight and guidance related to FMLA, ADA, PWFA, workers' compensation, benefits, and other employee support programs

• Conducting HR audits and supporting regulatory reviews, external audits, licensing activities, and accreditation surveys

• Developing and facilitating company-wide training, leadership development programs, onboarding content, and employee learning resources

• Supporting HR metrics, workforce reporting, process improvements, employee engagement, recognition, and organizational culture initiatives

• Partnering with HR leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, strategic initiatives, and alignment between HR operations and organizational goals

• Leaders receive practical, consistent, and compliant HR guidance that strengthens accountability and performance

• HR Coordinators and other team members receive effective supervision, mentorship, feedback, and development

• Leave, benefits, onboarding, credentialing, and compliance processes are accurate, timely, and well-managed

• Employee records and HR documentation remain accurate, confidential, compliant, and audit-ready

• Training and leadership development initiatives address organizational needs and produce measurable improvements

• HR programs and processes support employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and long-term workforce goals

• Sensitive matters are handled with sound judgment, professionalism, integrity, and appropriate escalation

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred)

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Minimum five (5) years of Human Resources experience

• Minimum two (2) years of experience handling employee relations investigations and corrective action processes

• Minimum one (1) year of leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience

• Strong working knowledge of employee relations, investigations, benefits administration, HR compliance, FMLA, ADA, PWFA, FLSA, and HR best practices

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and reporting tools

• Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion

• Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing priorities and taking initiative in a dynamic environment

• Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or a related credential preferred

• Experience supervising HR Coordinators, HR Assistants, or other HR support professionals preferred

• Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or human services preferred

• Experience using UKG, Kronos, Relias, Paylocity, ADP, or similar systems preferred

• Experience with workforce planning, succession planning, compensation, organizational development, or leadership development initiative preferred

Environment + Physical Demands

This position works primarily in professional office, healthcare, behavioral health, and administrative environments. Some hybrid or remote flexibility may be available based on operational needs, and occasional local travel between facilities, recruiting events, and organizational meetings may be required.
