Job Summary: We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented summer intern to support the Business Process Improvement team within Bank Operations. The intern will work alongside analysts and business partners to document workflows, analyze operational information, and support process improvement initiatives from discovery through implementation. Projects may evolve over the course of the internship, providing hands-on experience in data analysis, problem solving, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. The role promotes teamwork within the department and across the bank, represents INTRUST Bank in the community, supports the development of new business relationships, maintains strict confidentiality, and performs duties in a manner consistent with INTRUST's Character Qualities.

Essential Functions: All expectations described in the job description are necessary to be successful in this role, performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Partner with Business Process Improvement analysts and Bank Operations teams to document current workflows, identify opportunities, and support improvement activities.

• Participate in process improvement projects, including intake, discovery, analysis, recommendation, implementation, and follow-up activities.

• Gather, organize, and analyze operational data to help identify trends, process gaps, and opportunities for measurable improvement.

• Assist with the development of process maps, procedures, project documentation, presentations, and other materials that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.

• Support implementation efforts to help ensure improved processes, tools, and workflows are aligned with business needs and integrated effectively.

• Assist with the development and maintenance of tools or methods used to track project progress, outcomes, and relevant key performance indicators.

• Participate in meetings and conversations that support continuous improvement concepts, projects, and practices.

• Collaborate with department personnel and other business units to share information, strengthen teamwork, and keep applicable stakeholders informed of project changes.

• Apply sound judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills while completing assigned project work.

• Assist leadership and team members with data, reporting, special projects, and seasonal work as assigned.

• Perform other duties assigned by the department manager or internship mentor.

Education and Experience: A focus in business administration, Management Information Systems (MIS), project management, data analytics, finance, or a related field is preferred. Previous banking experience is not required. Relevant coursework, student organizations, internships, or project experience are helpful.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheets and presentation tools, and able to learn related systems and applications, including but not limited to Power Automate, VBA, Power Query.

• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

• Technical aptitude and an interest in applications, systems, and workflows.

• Strong written and oral communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, project coordination, and time-management skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and execute work accurately.

• Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle business information appropriately.

Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The physical demands necessary for this role should be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Occasional travel associated with training/projects may be required.
