Job Summary:
As a Utilities Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment and mechanical systems throughout Silver Dollar City.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to assist the Maintenance and Construction team.
• Performs assigned tasks in one or more skilled trade areas depending on the assignment including, but not limited to:
• Electrical
• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Park Maintenance
• Reads work orders and executes them efficiently in a safe manner, and according to code.
• Study blueprints and schematics and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment.
• Conduct routine maintenance on building systems, such as replacing filters in HVAC systems or changing out a light ballast.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
• Maintains daily logs, and records plant operating data as required in logs and operations software.
• Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys, and routine reports as directed.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• Performs other related functions assigned or as they become apparent or as management assigns.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
• Must have a general/intermediate knowledge of industry standards, methods, practices, and procedures used in the trades of Electrical, and/or HVAC, and/or Plumbing Technology.
• Must have basic knowledge of maintenance of buildings, service equipment, and production kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to tolerate a year-round outdoor environment; cold and hot temperatures.
• Ability to withstand heights, climbs stairs, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights from ladders and/or aerial lifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds (assisted).
• Must have specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend instructions, and communicate in English.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Class E Driver's License or resident state equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• 2 – 5 years of previous related experience and/or technical training in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical certification or higher-level education desired.
• Continuing education and training by becoming certified in one or more specific skills as determined by leadership.
• Ability to read technical designs and blueprints.
• Knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and materials used in the mechanical maintenance and repair of related equipment and systems.
• Proof of current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates.
• Proof of OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion.

Continuously required to:
• Stand (ie. uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, concrete)
• Walk: up and down steps, uneven and sloped surfaces, including to and from assigned employee parking located at the parks perimeter and employees assigned work station.
• Climbing: up and down stairs/ladders, uneven and sloped surfaces. Be able to climb and descend steps on an employee shuttle bus based on parking assignment.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a dynamic, outdoor-focused environment and is part of a hands-on Maintenance and Construction team. Employees are regularly exposed to a variety of work conditions including moving mechanical parts, high or precarious locations, and potential exposure to electrical currents and vibrations. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, and may involve uneven terrain or elevated workspaces accessed by ladders or aerial lifts. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is provided and must be used as required.
