Overview of the Position:
The Outside Sales Representative is a results-driven professional responsible for developing new business and maintaining existing client relationships within the assigned territory. Primary product lines include John Deere, Kubota, and Mitsubishi product lines, along with Frontier custom-built equipment.
This role requires a proactive approach to identifying customer needs, delivering tailored solutions, and supporting long-term business growth. The position involves close collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and high customer satisfaction.
This is an on-site position requiring frequent travel throughout the assigned territory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain sales accounts, while pursuing new business opportunities in alignment with the territory objectives.
• Record customer site visits and discussions and follow up with the customer on their requirements and specifications.
• Prepare and deliver accurate equipment quotes and cost estimates.
• Effectively utilize our internal support departments (Engineering, Parts and Service) to provide our customers with superior value and service.
• Coordinate with the Preventative Maintenance team to support customer preventative maintenance and warranty inquiries.
• Prepare internal budgets and forecasts.
• Participate in trade shows, complete manufacturer's product training, and attend product meetings as required.
• Proactively communicate with management on all aspects of our customer business.
• Generate internal customer sales call reports with customer feedback, as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Hold a Technologist diploma or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certificate
• 3-5 years of outside sales experience or 5-7 years of inside sales experience, with some outside sales exposure.
• Industrial diesel engine and power generation experience is a strong asset.
• Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Comfortable working independently, while effectively managing assigned territory and accounts.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales tactics, with a strong track record of closing sales.
• Willingness to travel, attend client meetings, and deliver effective sales presentations
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract are required.
