We are looking for a motivated and analytically driven Actuarial Associate to join our Personal Lines Pricing team. In this role, you will use data and actuarial insights to help shape pricing strategies for our personal auto and property products. Working closely with product management and underwriting, you will play an important role in ensuring our pricing remains competitive, profitable, and responsive to changing market conditions.

What you will be doing

• Perform loss development, trend analysis, and rate level indication studies for personal auto (liability, collision, comprehensive) and personal property (homeowners, tenants, condo) lines of business.

• Build and maintain actuarial models to support rate filings and pricing decisions.

• Analyze the impact of proposed rate changes on loss ratios, premium volume, persistency and competitive positioning.

• Prepare and support provincial rate and form filings in coordination with regulatory affairs.

• Monitor loss ratio experience and emerging trends by segment, territory, and coverage.

• Conduct multivariate and predictive modeling analyses to refine risk segmentation and rating factors.

• Support the development and validation of GLM or other statistical pricing models.

• Collaborate with product, underwriting, and claims teams to incorporate business context into pricing recommendations.

• Assist with competitor benchmarking and market analyses.

• Document assumptions, methodologies, and results clearly for internal and regulatory audiences.

• Present findings and recommendations to actuarial leadership and senior management.

What you bring to the team

• 5+ years of actuarial experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline

• ACAS designation completed, with active progress toward FCAS (or equivalent)

• Strong command of actuarial methods, loss modeling, credibility theory, and insurance fundamentals

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical or programming language such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or VBA

• Experience working with large datasets, actuarial systems, and complex analytical environments

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of deliverables and drive projects to completion

• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving skills

• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

• Confident communicator with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to management and business partners

How you will succeed

In your first year you will establish yourself as a trusted actuarial partner by delivering accurate pricing analyses, supporting regulatory filings, and providing data-driven recommendations that contribute to profitable growth. You will build strong relationships across underwriting, claims, and product teams, demonstrate ownership of projects from start to finish, and leverage your technical expertise to enhance pricing models, identify emerging trends, and support informed business decisions.
