About this role

Dundas Manor is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our Leadership Team. This full-time leadership role is responsible for providing clinical direction, supporting and mentoring nursing staff, ensuring compliance with long-term care legislation, and promoting excellence in resident-centered care.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of five years of long-term care experience and five years of leadership experience, along with strong knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act (FLTCA), Ministry requirements, and InterRAI processes. The role requires experience working collaboratively within a unionized environment, strong human resources knowledge, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality improvement initiatives.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will work closely with residents, families, staff, physicians, and community partners to foster a positive workplace culture and ensure the highest standards of care. This position is Monday to Friday with on-call responsibilities and flexibility to support staff education and operational needs outside regular business hours when required. Candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and maintain a current vulnerable sector screening.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently registered with the CNO as a Registered Nurse

• Will annually renew his/her registration with CNO & provide documentation of this

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred

• 5 years' experience in LTC is required

• 5 years' leadership and management experience is required

• Experience with Human Resources and working collaboratively with Collective Agreements

• Proficiency in computer documentation; excellent organizational & problem-solving abilities

• Must demonstrate excellent communication & presentation skills

• Must possess sound clinical skills and knowledge of gerontological Nursing practice

• Must have familiarity with the Inter-RAI process

• Must have a sound knowledge of MOHLTC regulations and the FLTCA (Fixing Long-Term Care Act)

• Must demonstrate an interest in ongoing quality improvement with experience leading QI projects

• Certification in Infection Control is a desirable asset

• Reliable to attend work regularly as scheduled

• Flexibility to meet the needs of the residents & home may mean adjusting work hours and/or supporting the Nursing Team with education/mentoring at non-business hours

• Current clear vulnerable sector screening required within 6 months

• Be able to work independently, demonstrate & model professional accountability
