About the Role
• Provide licensed professional nursing care to support cardiovascular physicians and other medical staff.
• Perform triage, documentation, injections, diagnostic support, and coordination of care.
• Maintain and update patient records in paper and/or electronic medical systems.
• Respond to patient needs both in-clinic and by phone, assisting with procedures and patient education.
How You'll Drive Our Mission Forward
• Accurately document vital signs, medications, allergies, and patient concerns to support quality care and risk management.
• Support physicians during patient visits and follow through on orders including tests, injections, and patient instructions.
• Collaborate with departments through EMR communications to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with Coumadin clinics, blood draws, pacemaker/defibrillator checks, and diagnostic procedure explanations.
• Manage medical forms, insurance pre-certifications, supply ordering, and mandated safety checks.
• Provide cross-coverage and support to other clinics or departments as needed.
What Makes You a Great Match
• For LPNs: Current LPN license in Louisiana and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS a plus)
• For CMAs: Certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA and at least 400 clinical hours in cardiology
• Experience with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, triage, injections, and assisting in diagnostic testing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered focus
• Organized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
